ClockShark alternative

Tavro is an alternative to ClockShark for contractors of 5 to 15 people who want hours compared with the quote and real progress, with one price per company and no long contract. If GPS time tracking and direct payroll sync are the priority, ClockShark does both and Tavro does not.

Tavro is our tool. We build it, so this page is a vendor's point of view: read it as one. Everything said about ClockShark comes from its official website, checked on October 12, 2026. No ratings, no ranking. If a line has changed since, their page is the reference.

What ClockShark does better

GPS and geofencing

ClockShark includes GPS and geofencing on both plans. Tavro does not track location.

Payroll integrations

Direct links to QuickBooks and RUN Powered by ADP. Tavro exports variables for your accountant, without a connector.

Budget alerts and mileage

An alert when tracked cost passes the bid, and mileage tracking on Pro.

Spanish and a large user base

Built-in Spanish support, and ClockShark says 9,500+ companies use it.

Who each one fits

Pick ClockShark instead if

  • You need GPS proof of where crews clocked in.
  • Payroll runs through QuickBooks or ADP and must sync directly.
  • A three-year term is fine for you.

Tavro will suit you better if

  • You want to compare hours with what the quote sold, weighted by real progress.
  • You want quotes, hours, scheduling, expenses and photos in one tool.
  • You do not want per-user pricing or a multi-year contract.

Frequently asked questions

Does ClockShark require a contract?

Its pricing page, checked October 12, 2026, states a three-year contract term on all plans.

Does Tavro use GPS?

No. Crews log hours on the job from the phone, without location tracking.

What does "weighted by real progress" mean?

A 43-hour line counts more than a 2-hour one when Tavro measures how far the job is. Counting tasks equally gives a wrong number.

How much is Tavro for 10 people?

$149 a month for the company, up to 10 users, no contract.

Is there a trial?

There is a public demo with accounts and sample data, and a guided onboarding when you start.
